“the animatables”
A short body mechanics exercise. Spoof of Pixar’s “The Incredibles” using Animation Mentor’s “Stella” Rig as ElastaGirl!
Hobo Short Animation
This was my first character animation in Maya, produced under a one week period in July 2015, and featuring the Hobo rig from Creative Crash. I had only begun learning Maya 6 weeks prior to making this - what a great learning experience!
BAE WATCH
Another Body Mechanics exercise using Animation Mentor's "Stella" Rig. Wip animation on the boy - who my mentor decided to name Baywatch!
SUITCASE STRUGGLES
A short pantomime project using Animation Mentor’s “Aia” Rig
KEY POSING
This was a two week class assignment in key posing. It was animated directly in slow-motion and was such a great exercise in timing and exaggeration.
UPDATE: The animation in this video has been revised and a new updated version will be uploaded shortly
SQUIRREL AND BOX
Just a fun little exercise to get used to the lovely squirrel rig provided by Animation Mentor, in preparation for my second short that should follow shortly (there's a mouthful - say that three times fast!)
BEST COPMLIMENT
I watched "As Good as it Gets" 3 years ago (which is a truly fantastic movie if you ever get the chance to see it!) and this one dialogue scene stuck out in my mind. My aim here was for fluid and subtle animation, such that you really feel like the character is human even though he is the most ridiculous looking thing - and with no eyes to boot! The mouth shapes were great fun to play with. This is my first Lip sync animation.
